Supplies Needed:

20 oz  empty  rinsed, dry pop bottle with cap

Scissors

Hot glue, super glue,  E6000

Twine

Screw, nail, screwdriver or hammer

Optional Supplies:  hobby knife, box cutter, paint, stickers, bling, ribbon glitter

Directions

  1. With scissors or hobby knife cut dried 20 oz. bottle at bottom of the label. Removing top from the bottom. Label should remain on the top part of the bottle.
  2. From the top piece, cut roughly 1/4 inch down from the top of the label ( you will be cutting on the label, measure or estimate 1/4 inch and cut there around the bottle) this removes the label section of the bottle. At this time pull off the paper left by the label, you will have the top of your bird feeder.
  3. On bottom section of  bottle (bird feeder) cut two downward slits about 1 inch apart and about 1 1/4 inch down. This is the door to your feeder. Fold this flap forward and cut off.
  4. Remove the cap off the bottle, place cap on stable surface, place the tip of a screw in the center of the cap use hammer to tap the screw into the cap.  Use the screwdriver to drive the screw into the cap making a hole. Remove the screw and set aside.

*if you do not have a screw and screwdriver a hammer and   nail will do the same thing.

  1. Paint both top and bottom of you bird feeder, remember to paint your bottle cap too. Once dry add your stickers, ribbon or decorations.
  2. Cut a 12 inch piece of twine, fold it in half, push the folded end through the bottom of the bottle cap, tie the loose ends, giving you a lop to hand your feeder.

Tip—If you have trouble, take a paperclip, open it up, put the twine in one end close it up use it like a needle.

  1. With hot glue, super glue or E6000 attach bottom and top sections. Screw on cap to top of bottle, then glue in place. Takes between 24-36 inches of twine to wrap around cap to hide any glue and create a bow.
