Our 2020 Story: The Year of the Coronavirus

2020 has been quite the year. We have all experienced changes in our lives. We are looking for your stories, your experiences, and your feelings about how you managed living in the age of the Coronavirus. Think of it as a collection of stories which will document this era for future generations. You know how your grandparents tell you how they “walked up a hill through snow – both ways!” Well now it’s your turn to tell future generations how you adjusted to life during a pandemic. We encourage everyone to participate. The good, bad, funny, and sad … tell us your story.

How has this pandemic affected you?

  • How did distance learning affect your family, children, or school?
  • With extended time at home, what did you learn about yourself or your family?
  • Since Covid what is your new normal routine? Are you working from home, tele-commuting, is babysitting required are you taking zoom meetings in your pajamas?
  • Did you find an activity/hobby, exercise, or event that helped lift your spirits this year?
  • Did you find a new way to navigate everyday tasks, such as ordering groceries online, have medicines delivered, virtual meetings, or tele-med doctor appointment?
  • Have you seen an act of kindness that touched your heart?

There are many ways to tell your story.

  • Write a few sentences to full paragraphs.
  • Submit an original photo that represents your experiences and include an explanation.
  • Compose a poem.
  • Write a letter to your past self with advice about 2020.
